Aussie MG4 Excite 51 owners can get One Pedal Driving software update at dealer

The first batch of MG4 Excite 51 electric cars sold in Australia didn’t have One Pedal Driving available in the car software menu but this can now be fixed with a free software update.

An MG spokesperson told me today that:

“The OPD update is available now. Customers can go back to dealership for the update which should only take 30 minutes.

One pedal driving is a feature that enables the accelerator to act as a strong brake as you take your foot pressure of it.

Some of the energy from this braking gets sent back to the battery which is called regenerative braking.

In Australia we didn’t get the original version 1 2022 MG4 on sale.

The version two 2023 MG4 just started selling here for the first time a few weeks ago.

This news article is about Australian MG4 version 2 cars only. It is not relevant to any overseas cars.

  2. Mines one of the ones missing that update.
Let’s see how I go with trying to get the dealer to apply it…
