I just heard about Read St, a voluntary community support group operated by book lovers, book buyers and booksellers in Sydney Australia.

The site contains sixteen categories of quality pre-read paperbacks. All proceeds after costs are donated to Australian charities or community support groups. The development of this service depends on your support.

Read Street’s mission statement is:-

* To provide great books.
* To encourage kids and grown ups to read.
* To support Aussie health care organisations.
* To aid poverty by supporting Aussie charities.
* Postage & Handling is not charged on this site within Aust or Aust External Territories. Minimum order $16.00

To illustrate how cheap the 2nd hand books from Read Street are I did a search for books for sale by the prominent Fantasy writer Terry Pratchett, 7 books were for sale in the catalogue and they all cost between $3 and $4!!

bugger, I bought a book from Collins online the other day. If I’d have known I would have gone straight to the source

EDITOR: Not many people know that Collins online is merely a reseller. However it didn’t take me long to find out because all the book images on Collins online come from the Seekbooks site eg: http://images.seekbooks.com.au/0733316549.jpg !
