i own a flip mino, (not the HD) and I have just purchased a Kodak zx1 that is in the mail, I have heard that the kodak videos are difficult to view once on the computer, as in they might have to be converted or something...I love the FlipShare ware that came with the Flip, and hoped that a similiar program was available with the ZX1...any info?

EDITOR: the Zx1 Pocket Video Camera has software built in on it's little hard drive. every time it is plugged into a new PC, as in if you are visiting friends or travelling and want to upload then and there you can.

The software is ArcSoft MediaImpressions software for Kodak, Windows Vista and XP ONLY (Mac has it's own software)

Your review is great, and I need to take another look at the Zi8. I had always thought the Flip's resolution on a TV screen was pretty impressive, but as the ZX1 has better spec in that department I imagine the Zi8 will more than match it. Seems like grandparents' Christmas present is sorted.

All of the old Flip and Kodak models have been blown away by the new Kodak Zi8 which costs same as the old models. It should be available from major Australian stores like Harvey Norman etc. Contact Kodak Australia for details

The Kodak Has a problem however it drops frames in low light. It can slow from 60fps to about 3fps. the Creative Vado HD is a great alternative.

Wow, I like the sleek finish. The red interface is really cool. I agree that it looks a little like a cellphone. 60 fps and 16:9 ratio is also really cool
