Music To Listen To: When Youre Feeling Blue

Everyone has sad days. Everyone has times when things are really tough. You may not be experiencing clinical depression, but you can definitely feel yourself getting pretty down.

I find listening to upbeat, happy music is one way to overcome the blues because it lifts my spirits, helping me relax and wind down to release tension

I will feature other feel good songs to uplift your mood in this article on an irregular basis, probably on Mondays & Fridays to help people cheer up on the first/last day of the working week.

Today’s song selection is: Eric Idle’s song Always Look On The Bright Side of Life from Monty Python’s Life of Brian

You can listen & watch the music video below:

Past Selections of Music To Listen To: When You’re Feeling Blue:
Beatles – Good Day Sunshine
Chicane feat. Bryan Adams – Don’t Give It Up
Bobby Mcferrin – Don’t Worry, Be Happy

This is such a great idea. I certainly enjoyed this post.

If you are looking for other songs to feature, I have always liked “Don’t Worry Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin

EDITOR: excellent suggestion Mark, I ‘ll make that the one of the next selections

My favorie feel good song is the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s cover of Roller Coaster of Love. I have to smile while I’m listening to it. Though from the Beatles I love Rocky Raccoon.

Music can totally change your bad mood into a good (or at least better!) one. I tend to listen to older, upbeat music. It helps at home, in traffic, etc. The Beatles are definitely great to listen to if your bummed out. How can you not smile when singing along to The Beatles!?

My wife would totally agree with you about the Beatles being able to cheer you up. Between them and the The New Kids on the Block she has enough music to stay happy for the rest of her life. Fortunate for me! :-) Great post! -M

Hi! I like to listen to upbeat music and I love Beatles too! Another upbeat, happy music I also like is Yael Naim’s New Soul.

There’s so many good tunes out there its difficult to choose. I like all genres from pop, rock, soul to classical, but I would the two that really lift me up would be the theme tunes from Indiana Jones, and from Superman.

Sometimes it is more helpful to just embrace your sad emotions. After all you probably feel down for a reason, why not take that time to ruminate over it. Forcing happiness is unhealthy and can arguably diminish your enjoyment of said happiness if the emotion is not genuine. As with most things sadness can be good in moderation. Stay true to yourself and do not cave into the pressure of the happiness cult.

There are so many feel good songs available in the market. One should download it and should make a playlist. And whenever he/she feels sad, one should listen to it. I have already added this song in my playlist.

I recommend listening to some music that you grew up with during your happy times. This will truly have you reminiscing the good times.

Sometimes you start to listen to depressing music and you dont even realize that your doing. When you come to that realization, i usually change it to more upbeat music.
