It may be a repeat series more than 10 years old, but Cracker shows that a quality drama can defy the odds by still gripping modern day viewers:

Jimmy McGovern’s award winning drama about a brilliant but abrasive clinical psychologist Eddie “Fitz” Fitzgerald started playing onABC TV on Saturday September 18 2004 at 9:30pm. Robbie Coltrane who won two BAFTA “Best Actor” awards for his role, plays Fitz, the wisecracker who looks behind the evidence of murder to discover what lies behind the criminal mind

Dr. Edward Fitzgerald, or Fitz, as played by Coltraine, is a brilliant, eccentric man who passionately believes in uncovering the truth. He has the capacity to be able to talk to someone for five minutes and be able to see right into his or her inner most secrets. Unfortunately this makes him impossible to get along with – Crackerjack Cracker Cinemonkey reviews

I have all the episodes on dvd, as well as the ‘movie’. This series is so good, I can watch it over and over again – and I do!
